INTENSIVE PORTUGUESE LANGUAGE RESIDENCY
An exciting opportunity to immerse yourself in a Portuguese speaking residency for a full four days! Alongside formal lessons, activities will include working together on the quinta, cooking together, swimming in the river, and some local sightseeing - all designed to give you the most useful everyday vocabulary whether you are moving to or already living in Portugal!
During the Intensive Portuguese Language Residency we use a teaching methodology that allows students to hear and speak throughout the entire day. This is a very effective way to improve the learning-teaching process.
The student starts speaking Portuguese from the first minute, using the Portuguese language as the main means of communication and applying it during the majority of the residency.
The student shouldn’t be worried about not understanding the full conversation initially because the learning process is designed to flow the way you learned your mother tongue, naturally and gradually.
THIS IS A “JUST LANDED” BEGINNER LEVEL COURSE
You will learn to understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type. You will learn to introduce yourself and others and ask and answer questions about personal details such as where you live, people you know, and things you have. You will learn to interact is a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.
No prior knowledge of Portuguese is required for this course.
ACCOMMODATION:
Available accommodation includes an en-suite double bedroom, a double bedroom and a twin/double bedroom with shared bathroom in the house, camping (twin/double bell tent or bring your own tent) with shared bathroom; or space to park your own campervan. Accommodation is allocated on first-come, first-served basis - so book early to reserve your preferred option!
FOOD:
Food will be vegetarian and we'll be cooking together as another opportunity for conversation. Lunch at a local restaurant, and lunch at the market are included in the price.
COST:
350 euros per person including accommodation, food, tuition, and visits. EARLY BIRD price of 300 euros if paid in full before end of July!
PARTICIPANTS:
Maximum 6 participants so reserve your place early!
RESERVATIONS:
You can reserve your place with a 50 euro deposit* payable via paypal (please select “send money to friend” so as not to incur extra charges) to ptlanguageresidency@gmail.
Remainder of the course fee is due one month before the course start date**.
In case of cancellation:
* The deposit is non-refundable and is used as an admin fee.
** The course fee (minus deposit) is refundable only if we can fill your place.
